Description: uHUD [2.3-beta.8] doesn't seem to be able to lower the login-spam significantly. For this reason I'd like to renew my suggestion I had already made in the really having become outdated Issue #180: What about taking the uHUD's TIP-messages out of chat (on login at least)? A gagged HUD can't spam. /me giggles Actually I never cared about the unused menu-button on the main page of the uHUD-menu but after trying out the new uHUD and hearing about the possibility, that this problems couldn't be solveable completely because of SL-limitations, I believe, using this button wouldn't be a waste. Better the last empty button used for something simple, than risking huge spam for all wearers anytime when they login on a busy place. I'm suggesting to make this button a status button directing one to a simple info-page. (Please view attached file.) Additionally all active RLV-restrictions could be chatted whenever this page gets opened. The user would decide when they want to see this info and the spam on login would have gone once and for all. |

This is something to think about. The main reason why we even have that 'can't detach' message is that I was getting tired of avies IM'ing me why they couldn't detach their uHUDs. So, I'd think that upon login, it might be a good time to remind them what they can't detach, and why. If that's too difficult to do given the constraints, I'm thinking maybe only give the message on clicking the uHUD or saying "/1." (sub only). Idea is that if they try to detach and can't, they might just clicking the uHUD. What do you think? |

That's it! Actually I prefer your idea in comparison with mine. An unexperienced wearer trying to get rid off the HUD surely would click it very soon and exactly this is the only situation, where the message is needed. I'd really like to see this realized. 🙂 Now I have a thought regarding the more experienced wearers too: What about implementing the option to switch off the TIP-messages in general? Just speaking for myself, I'd say, that I already have seen them appearing often enough. |

Marking this as abandoned for now since we managed to limit the spam to once per log in. |
